Florida Man Allegedly Beats Child for 30 Minutes Over Missing Couch Cushion, Deputies Report

Local police in Florida have filed allegations of child abuse against a couple. According to the authorities, the guy allegedly assaulted a youngster for about half an hour, and his wife did not intervene to aid the boy.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in central Florida, the incident took place on December 7 in Kissimmee and was partially captured on the surveillance cameras that belonged to the family.

According to a press statement issued by the sheriff’s office, the event that occurred on December 11 was reported to the Department of Children and Families as well as police enforcement for investigation.

According to the authorities, the guy, Lance Rachel, was upset about a couch cushion that had been relocated in the family’s home. He then accused a youngster who was present in the home of lying about whether or not the cushion had been moved. According to the authorities, he yelled obscenities at the child and physically attacked him for twenty-eight minutes. In addition, he gave the child more than fifty beatings with a belt.

According to the news release issued by the sheriff’s office, “He was also choked and called several disparaging names and other obscenities.”

The sheriff said that a man threatened to break the jaw of a youngster.

Rachel is reported to have threatened the youngster with breaking his jaw at least once throughout the altercation, according to the sheriff’s department investigation.

Monday, detectives had an interview with Rachel, and he acknowledged that the incident did in fact take place, according to the news release issued by the sheriff’s department.

Court records that can be accessed online indicate that Rachel, who is 42 years old, was charged with aggravated child abuse as well as battery by strangulation.

According to the news release issued by the sheriff’s office, his wife, Kimberly Rachel, who is 35 years old, was taken into custody for failing to report documented instances of child abuse.

The two individuals were seen in a video that was included with the press release being led out from a residence where they were being held by the police.

In the video, Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez gives the following statement: “It is one thing to use corporal punishment on your child; however, it is against the law to abuse a child and to go too far.”
