Discovery Near the Canadian Border
Agents from the Blaine Sector of the Border Patrol discovered two black backpacks left in a forested area in Lynden, Washington, on Thursday when they were on patrol in the vicinity of the U.S.-Canada border.
The suitcases would soon turn out to contain more than they had anticipated, but they were left unattended.
Cocaine Seized in Large Quantities
When the agents searched the backpacks, they discovered thirty brick-shaped items that turned out to be cocaine.
The entire weight of the pills was 78 pounds, and their estimated street worth was more than $1.1 million. The agents’ prompt efforts stopped the drugs from reaching their intended destinations, and the finding significantly disrupts the local illegal drug trade.
