After Alexander Materne, 28, reportedly took a 14-year-old girl from her house to his home in St. Rose, Louisiana, the child vanished on December 23. Initially, the two had linked on an online game platform. The teenager told Materne her actual age after having sex at his house.
According to reports, Materne gave the girl a tent, food, and water after finding out her age and then left her in a wooded region in Tangipahoa Parish. The teenager was left alone in the forest while he went on to celebrate Christmas with his family.
Race Against Time and Rescue
When the girl’s concerned family found evidence of her contact with Materne, the investigation sped up. They were able to get in touch with his family members who were present at the Christmas party. When police found Materne at the family gathering, they forced him to disclose where he had left the teenager.
The 14-year-old was taken to a hospital for assessment after authorities discovered her in good physical condition. Materne is currently being charged with Aggravated Kidnapping of a Child and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
The investigation, which was headed by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the suspect’s arrest and the victim’s safe recovery.
