19-year-old injured in Upper Brook Court shooting, investigation underway

Virginia’s Albemarle County. Police say a shooting in the 900 block of Upper Brook Court early Wednesday wounded a 19-year-old man.

When emergency personnel got to the site just after 12:26 a.m., they discovered that the victim had been shot in the leg. According to authorities, he was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.

Police stated that there is no continuing threat to the public and categorized the incident as isolated.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue and the Albemarle County Police Department both arrived on the site.
