Two lucky New Yorkers each claim $50K prizes in latest Powerball draw

Brooklyn, New York The New York Lottery said Sunday that two $50,000 Powerball tickets were sold in New York for the drawing on January 6.

The winning tickets were bought at Speedway, which is situated at 365 Fairview Avenue in Hudson, and 99 C Superior Market, which is located at 763 Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn. Both won the third prize after matching four numbers plus the Power Ball.

The red Power Ball is chosen from a different field of one to 26. Powerball numbers are drawn from a range of one to 69. Three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m., drawings are held.

The largest lottery in North America is still the New York Lottery, which in fiscal year 2023–2024 brought in $3.8 billion for public education.
