San Jose business leaders offer support to L.A.-area businesses as fires rage

SAN JOSE As uncontrolled fires rage over the Los Angeles region, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce extended its support to business associations in Southern California.

Leah Toeniskoetter, president of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, expressed her condolences to everyone impacted by the tragic fires in Los Angeles County.

A large portion of Southern California has been engulfed in wind-whipped flames, which state, municipal, and regional firefighters are fighting.

According to Toeniskoetter, despite the valiant efforts of firefighters and first responders, homes, schools, libraries, grocery stores, restaurants, and businesses have been completely destroyed in some locations and are still in danger in others.

As the flames raced forward, thousands of people were forced to evacuate their homes and businesses due to the deadly fires.

According to Toeniskoetter, these communities have a long road ahead of them.

In Los Angeles County, windstorms forced the fires through further land.

According to Toeniskoetter, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce is ready to provide its collaboration and assistance to our sister organizations in the affected areas as they evaluate the damage and make plans for the future.

According to CAL FIRE, no estimates for the fires’ containment have been released.

We offer our sincere condolences to those who have suffered such a severe loss and promise to support their reconstruction efforts, Toeniskoetter stated.
