Three-vehicle crash in Howard County leaves one dead, multiple injured

Maryland’s Howard County. According to Howard County authorities, a three-vehicle collision near Glenwood early Thursday morning claimed one life and sent several others to hospitals.

The collision occurred on Route 97 close to Roxbury Road at approximately five in the morning. According to the police, a northbound Honda struck a Chevrolet Silverado after over the center line. After that, the Honda struck a southbound Chevrolet Traverse and stopped at a guardrail.

One of the Honda’s passengers was killed at the scene after being ejected after the crash. One of the passengers in the Honda is receiving treatment for potentially fatal injuries at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after the driver and another passenger were sent there. There were minor injuries to a third passenger in the Honda.

With non-life-threatening injuries, the driver and a passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado were sent to Carroll Hospital. There were no major injuries to the Chevrolet Traverse’s driver or passenger.

While first responders cleared the site and authorities started looking into what caused the incident, Route 97 was stopped at Roxbury Road for about five hours.
