Rockville man wins $50,000 on lottery scratch-off, plans to buy home

Rockville, Maryland.After winning the first second-tier prize in the Maryland Lottery’s sMONOPOLY X200 scratch-off game, a guy from Rockville is enjoying his $50,000 win.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Hilltop Wine & Spirits in Bowie by the Montgomery County resident who works as a maintenance worker. He matched the number 11 and unveiled the $50,000 reward underneath it after scratching off the play area.

I was pleased to have won at last. The winner grinned and remarked, “I have been playing for a long time.”

He claims the award will greatly increase his funds and intends to use it as a down payment on a home.

Selling the winning ticket will earn a $500 bonus for Hilltop Wine & Spirits, which is situated at 6856 Race Track Road.

Since its November 2024 launch, the Monopoly X200 game has left five $50,000 awards and four $2 million top prizes unclaimed.

The fortunate winner says, “I want to come back after I win the big one,” hoping that this is not his last significant victory.
