Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Wilkes-Barre City Police Department officers were called to an incident on South Grant Street on January 16th when a woman was blocking the road. The event took place in the 100 block of the street at 1:48 a.m.
According to reports, the woman, Carrie Hiemenz, 37, of Wilkes-Barre, was under the influence of a controlled narcotic. Officers detained her because they believed her condition was dangerous to her safety.
Officers found drug paraphernalia in Hiemenz’s possession while making the arrest. Furthermore, the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Office had an active arrest warrant for her.
After being found and taken into custody, Hiemenz was taken to City Headquarters for additional processing. She has been accused by the police of public intoxication and drug paraphernalia possession.
