One dead, one injured in Lower East Side stabbing incident

New York, N.Y.According to authorities, two related incidents on Saturday night on Manhattan’s Lower East Side resulted in the deadly stabbing of a 20-year-old man and the injury of a 19-year-old guy.

At at 8:32 p.m., officers received a 911 call regarding an assault that was taking place close to 75 Norfolk Street. They arrived to see 20-year-old Amir Smith stabbed in the torso. After being taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, Smith was declared deceased.

Near Delancey Street and Clinton Street, authorities found a second victim shortly after, a man 19-year-old who had sustained numerous stab wounds to the back. Additionally, he was sent to Bellevue, where his health is stable.

Authorities are still investigating the stabbings’ circumstances and have not yet made any arrest announcements or named any possible suspects.
