Boston, Massachusetts.During a narcotics raid in Dorchester early Saturday morning, a Boston police officer was bitten by a pit bull. Two individuals were arrested and cocaine, a gun, and other drug-related things were seized.
Officers from the E-13 (Jamaica Plain), B-3 (Mattapan), and Citywide Drug Control Units carried out a search warrant at 16 Wildwood Street on January 18, 2025, at around 7:15 a.m.
Edwin German, 26, was initially seen by police leaving the house, and they stopped him at the intersection of Theodore Street and Morton Street. The search warrants for German and his residence were communicated to him. Officers discovered that several people including a pit bull that was characterized as friendly were inside the house during this period.
The pit bull attacked and bit one of the officers while they were carrying out the warrant. Before Boston EMS took him to a hospital, the cop was able to repel the dog and flee outside, where other officers bandaged his wounds. The cop received medical attention for non-life-threatening wounds. Later, Animal Control took the dog away and secured it.
Police arrested three more people, including Alberis Cruz, 33, inside the house and confiscated the following items:
- A trafficking quantity of cocaine
- Scales, baggies, cutting agents, and other drug distribution materials
- A 9mm ghost gun with a magazine loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition
- An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency
Both guys will likely be arraigned in Dorchester District Court after being charged. Cruz is accused with unlawfully possessing a pistol and ammunition, while German is accused of selling cocaine, a Class B substance.
