Orlando, FloridaDramatic body camera film taken by Connecticut police shows the arrest of a woman who is suspected of killing her roommate in Orlando, Florida, more than a thousand miles away, according to investigators.
In Orlando, Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, is currently charged with second-degree murder. She is charged with the murder of her 42-year-old roommate, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, whose location is still unknown. What started off as a report of a missing individual has developed into a terrifying and intricate case with many unsolved questions.
From Missing Person to Murder Investigation
Victoria-Gonzalez reported Medina-Pacheco missing to Orlando police on December 27, 2022. That afternoon, officers showed up at their Curry Ford Road home.
Victoria-Gonzalez said she hadn’t seen her roommate since Christmas, according to the authorities. However, detectives soon found inconsistencies in her story.
Her statements started to show contradictions as investigators looked more. Eventually, they were able to secure a search warrant for the two women’s shared residence. Police suspected Victoria-Gonzalez of being involved after discovering signs of a violent incident inside.
Arrest Made in Connecticut
Victoria-Gonzalez was found in Hartford, Connecticut, more than 1,200 miles from Orlando, over a year later. Following an interview and the development of a case, she was taken into custody on November 6, 2024.
The moment officers hauled her into custody was captured on body camera footage. Victoria-Gonzalez, who apparently knows only a little English, was instructed in Spanish with the help of a translator.
The Search for Medina-Pacheco
The case is far from ended, even with the arrest. The whereabouts of Medina-Pacheco are still unknown. Authorities want anyone with knowledge to come forward as they continue their investigation.
The public is being asked for assistance by the Orlando Police Department. Anyone with information regarding the case can phone Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS or get in touch with their homicide unit.
