An additional 150 male patients have filed lawsuits against former top city urologist Darius Paduch, bringing the total number of male victims involved in the case to 310. This makes it the largest case of its kind, with a single abuser, according to lawyers.
“Darius Paduch exploited more male patients than any predator in history,” plaintiff lawyer Anthony T. DiPietro told The Post — with new court papers saying the doctor abused “what is believed to be thousands of victims and survivors.”
Disturbing accounts shared in Manhattan Supreme Court filings on Tuesday reveal the extent of the sicko doctor’s depravity. The victims include retirees and several minors, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
The allegations state that he administered a serum to induce prolonged erections, performed penile enlargements resulting in disfigurement, conducted cystoscopies without anesthesia by inserting a tube through the penis into the urethra, and subjected certain patients to humiliating examinations where they were forced to assume a position on all fours.
According to court papers, during certain sessions, Paduch would walk around with a pen and gesture towards different parts of the patient’s unclothed body, as if he were assuming the role of a professor.
“It’s worse than I could have ever imagined,” said a mother of one of the latest plaintiffs, a patient of Paduch’s at Weill-Cornell Medical Center, in a statement provided by DiPietro.
Paduch faced legal consequences in April 2023 when he was arrested and later convicted in May on 13 counts of sexual abuse in federal court. The potential consequences he now faces are severe, with a possible prison sentence of up to 60 years.
According to court papers, he had an extensive career as a urologist at renowned medical institutions such as Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University, and Northwell Health Systems. These institutions played a significant role in supporting Paduch’s alleged “grooming” campaign.
“Patients trust these so-called ‘top hospitals’ to provide safe and proper medical care for deeply personal conditions. Patients don’t go into a medical office thinking they are going to be exploited by some deviant criminal in a white lab coat,” DiPietro said.
According to court papers, the abuse occurred in the presence of nurses, assistants, and even other physicians at times.
Paduch’s actions, disguised as essential medical treatment, involved directing patients to engage in sexual acts or performing them himself, often while exposing them to explicit material. Occasionally, he would take measurements of his patients’ erect penises and utilize sex toys with phallic shapes during the examination.
A patient with a heartbreaking story sought treatment from Paduch for over ten years, beginning at the young age of seven.
According to reports, a 13-year-old has become another victim.
According to the documents, one victim reported that Paduch applied such force to his penis that it resulted in bruising that lasted for several weeks.
A different individual alleged that the doctor’s excessive prescription of medication led to his liver failure.
There are 143 new victims who have chosen to file individual lawsuits instead of joining the class action.
