M. SEVERN. Meade High School was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after a suspected stabbing left one student hospitalized. With assistance from Army CID, Fort Meade Police, and the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES), Anne Arundel County Police are spearheading the investigation.
The injured student was taken to a hospital for treatment after the incident earlier in the day. The student’s condition and the incident’s circumstances have not been disclosed by the police.
As a precaution, all kids are still on lockdown in their classrooms, and nobody is permitted to enter or exit the school at this time. Parents have been advised by the authorities not to pick up their children from the school.
A media staging area is being set up to provide updates when new information becomes available, and police public information officers (PIOs) are there.
