Augusta On Thursday afternoon, a school bus carrying thirty students lost control on an ice road and overturned in Augusta Township, Michigan, causing a terrible incident. The event, which had the potential to be tragic, is currently being investigated.

Ice Causes Chaos on Michigan Roads

According to Michigan State Police, the collision happened on the 9700 block of Talladay Road at approximately 4:13 p.m.

When the ice road took hold, the bus carrying pupils from Lincoln Elementary School had barely started up again after dropping off a child. Passengers were left surprised and terrified after the car flipped after veering off the north side of the road.

Emergency Responders Rush to the Scene

Emergency personnel from Huron Valley Ambulances and the Augusta Township Fire Department arrived on the scene in a matter of seconds. They carried out comprehensive medical assessments and promptly evacuated the kids.

Thankfully, there were only minor injuries recorded. At the scene, all of the students were securely reunited with their guardians after being cleared by medical personnel.

The bus driver was taken to a nearby hospital for additional assessment after sustaining minor injuries as well. As part of the ongoing investigation, their prompt action during the tumultuous times is being scrutinized.

Police Probe Into the Icy Crash

According to preliminary investigations, icy road conditions may have caused the bus to lose control. The rollover occurred when the car started to slip while it was moving east.
