Memphis, Tennessee Memphis is predicted to have a wet and stormy start to the week, with persistently heavy showers through Wednesday. Because the likelihood of rain is still high, residents should be ready for wet roads and potential floods in low-lying regions.
With a 90% chance of precipitation, the National Weather Service predicts an increase in rain showers on Monday night. There is a chance of new rainfall totals of a quarter to a half inch. With temperatures in the mid-40s to low-50s, Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to see the most rain.
The day will be damp and cold due to Tuesday’s showers, which will bring gusty northeast winds of up to 10 mph. There is still a 90% probability of rain by Wednesday, which could cause localized floods in areas with inadequate drainage. By Wednesday evening, the rain will lessen somewhat, though there may still be sporadic showers.
The weather will improve by Thursday, when it will be 42 degrees Fahrenheit with partly sunny skies. Friday sees a warming trend with sunshine and highs close to 52 degrees Fahrenheit. By Saturday, though, there’s a danger of thunderstorms when the showers resume.
On wet roads, drivers should use caution, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours. Prepare for a few days of rain and keep an umbrella close at hand.
