California Weather Alert: Freeze Warning Extended for San Benito, Monterey Counties Through Tuesday

California’s San Francisco With nighttime lows of 27 degrees Fahrenheit, a freeze warning is still in force for portions of Central California. The Southern Salinas Valley, which includes Arroyo Seco and Lake San Antonio, the Cholame Hills in Southeast Monterey County, and San Benito County are all affected by the warning.

The freeze warning will be in effect Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. PST, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters warn that extended exposure to frigid temperatures may be dangerous, especially for those without a place to live or sufficient heating.

Residents are asked to take preventative measures against freezing weather in order to safeguard pets, delicate plants, and outside plumbing. To avoid damage, local authorities advise keeping pets indoors and covering exposed pipes.

An earlier freeze warning that ended Monday morning was followed by this frigid blast. Another alert will be issued, though, as overnight temperatures are predicted to plunge once more. Even if the cold weather is normal for this season, locals should be on guard and adopt the appropriate safety and warmth measures.
