Fort Worth, Texas This weekend, a powerful cold front is expected to pass over Texas, bringing with it the possibility of severe storms and a precipitous decrease in temperature.
Before the front moves in late Saturday, a warming trend is expected to last through Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Dispersed showers and storms are anticipated as the system moves forward, especially east of I-35, with some storms in East Texas possibly intensifying to severe levels.
Saturday highs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will be close to 70 degrees Fahrenheit, while Sunday lows could be as low as 43 degrees, with overnight lows falling into the 20s. The Waco, Killeen, and Temple regions will see a similar change, with Saturday highs in the mid-70s and Sunday lows in the 40s. After the front passes, breezy winds are also predicted.
It is recommended that residents remain vigilant about the weather and get ready for any potential severe storms on Saturday night. In certain places, the cold air mass behind the front may cause wind chills close to freezing.
