Kentucky Flood Warning in Effect Through Saturday as Ohio River Crests Near Paducah

Paducah, Kentucky The Ohio River near Paducah is still under a flood alert due to rising water levels. The river is cresting and is predicted to drop below flood stage by the weekend, so residents should exercise caution along riverbanks and stay away from flooded roads.

The Ohio River rose to 43.1 feet on Sunday night and is expected to fall to 39.0 feet by Friday, according to the Paducah National Weather Service (NWS). Small, vulnerable settlements along the river are being impacted by minor to major flooding. Wednesday is predicted to see rain, which might have an even greater effect on water levels.

Paducah’s Five-Day Weather Outlook:

Tuesday: High of about 61 degrees, mostly sunny.

Wednesday: High temperatures will be close to 65 degrees, with a 30% chance of afternoon showers.

Thursday: High of about 55 F, mostly sunny.

Friday: Sunny, over 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and warmer.

Saturday: High of about 59 degrees, partly overcast.
