Mississippi Weather Alert: Dense Fog Expected Along I-55 Wednesday Morning

Jackson, MississippiDrivers in Mississippi should brace themselves for heavy fog on Wednesday morning, as visibility in many places will go below a quarter mile.

NWS Jackson predicts that between 3 and 10 a.m., widespread fog will develop east of I-55. The remainder of central Mississippi will see the development of patchy fog. Drivers should use low-beam headlights, drive carefully, and give themselves more time to get there.

Overnight lows will be in the low 40s. Meridian and Hattiesburg will have temperatures of 41–42 degrees Fahrenheit, while Jackson and Vicksburg will experience temperatures of 43–44 degrees.

Driving conditions could be dangerous due to the increased fog threat, especially in Yazoo City, Philadelphia, and Brookhaven. Before leaving, commuters should examine the state of the roads.
