Indiana State Police Investigate Deadly Crash at Southway 31 Intersection

On Tuesday evening, a two-vehicle collision on US 31 at Southway 31 claimed the life of a Peru, Indiana, woman. Just before 8 p.m., Rochester Police, Indiana State Police, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the site.

Cameron Green, 25, of Coldwater, Michigan, was operating a silver Ford Escape in the passing lane heading south, according to Indiana State Police. For unclear circumstances, a red Nissan Kicks driven by Peruvian Tina Adkins, 55, was halted in the same lane. Both cars were thrown off the road when the Ford collided with the Nissan’s passenger side.

Adkins was discovered unconscious by emergency personnel, who declared her dead on the spot. Green was sent to Woodlawn Hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. The Adkins family has been informed by the authorities.

With support from the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team, local law enforcement, and emergency personnel, Trooper Adrianna Ward spearheaded the investigation. The inquiry is still ongoing.
