Albuquerque, New Mexico Through the beginning of next week, there will be critical fire weather conditions.
A spring-like pattern will bring low humidity and strong winds, which will create ideal fire conditions, according to the Albuquerque National Weather Service. Gusts of up to 50 mph are predicted for Sunday and Tuesday as the winds get stronger. The risk of fire will increase due to dry air, particularly in central and eastern New Mexico.
With widespread critical fire weather conditions, Monday is predicted to be the most dangerous day. Residents should secure any loose outdoor items and refrain from burning outdoors.
In the higher elevations, there is a slight chance of light snowfall late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. But statewide, the main concerns will be dry conditions and strong winds.
