Alaska Residents to Receive $1,702 PFD Stimulus Payment This Month – Who Qualifies

The Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is distributed annually to Alaskan citizens.  The State of Alaska uses interest from its oil income to make the stimulus payment.

The Permanent Fund Dividend payment is available to anyone who has resided in the State of Alaska for the whole year before submitting their application. Thus, residents are getting ready to receive their stimulus payment, which is the yearly transfer of income created from their natural resources, as the third month of the year is well underway.

The Alaska Permanent Fund was established in 1976 to administer the state’s oil revenues through the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and distribute them to the people of the state, who then utilize the money to help pay for necessities like housing, food, and healthcare.

To ensure that Alaskans directly benefit financially from the state’s oil and gas profits, the PFD distributes a portion of natural resource revenues. The budget, which serves as a consistent yearly income stream for eligible people, is managed by the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation.

Every year between January 1 and March 31, applications for the PFD must be submitted online or by mail for each member of the family. About 600,000 Alaskans are eligible for the help, which has increased to $1,702 for the current year.
