A 340-pound foster mother allegedly sat on a 10-year-old boy from Indiana to crush him to death because he was “acting bad.”
In January, 48-year-old Jennifer Lee Wilson was given a six-year jail term with a one-year probationary period deferred. She was accused of causing Dakota Levi Stevens’ death by reckless murder.
Since the boy was not breathing and had no pulse, authorities were called to a residence in Valparaiso, Indiana, on April 25. An officer discovered bruises on the child’s chest and lower neck. After officers tried to revive him, the kid was taken to a hospital and eventually passed away.
Wilson informed the police that the youngster had recently fled from home and that she had located him at a neighbor’s house and taken him back. He was “acting bad” and threw himself on the ground, telling her he was going to leave, she added.
“She does not know if she tackled Dakota or they fell to the ground, but her intention was to hold him,” Wilson reportedly told police when she tried to stop him from leaving, according to a court file.
She claimed to have sat on his stomach for almost five minutes. After a while he stopped moving, but she thought he was acting.
She moved him over and saw that his eyes were pale, so she said, “Are you faking?” Wilson then dialed 911 and started CPR.
South Bend Memorial Hospital announced Dakota’s passing on April 27. He experienced liver and lung hemorrhage, soft tissue and organ damage, and other traumas.

According to an autopsy, the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia, and the manner of death was determined to be homicide.
Before the medical incident, Dakota ran to her house and asked her to adopt him because his parents struck him in the face, the neighbor informed the cops. The youngster showed no symptoms of injuries, according to the neighbor.
According to the neighbor, Wilson then arrived to retrieve her son.
Wilson was reported at 4’11” and 340 pounds, while Dakota was 4’10” and 91 bucks.
