BRONX, N.Y. — A 56-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday night in the Bronx, police said.
Officers from the 42nd Precinct responded to a 911 call at approximately 9:20 p.m. reporting a person shot in front of 621 East 169th Street. Upon arrival, they found the victim unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency medical services transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification,” police said in a statement.
As of Friday, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
