Queens, New York.During an early-morning confrontation outside a Jackson Heights home, a 32-year-old male was sliced in the face with a sharp weapon, according to police.
The victim got into a verbal altercation with an unnamed person at around 3:53 a.m. on Saturday in front of 105-02 34th Avenue, which led to the attack. As the altercation swiftly got out of hand, the suspect repeatedly struck the victim in the face with what the cops said was a sharp weapon.
On foot, the suspect left the area and went east on 34th Avenue. The attacker’s identity is still unknown, and no one has been taken into custody.
Shortly after the event, Emergency Medical Services arrived and took the man to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where his status was classified as stable.
The motivation and whether the two people knew one another have not been disclosed by the police.
Police continue their investigation as they look for a suspect.
Authorities are looking into local CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation into the event. The kind of sharp object used in the attack is yet unknown.
Detectives are trying to identify the suspect, and anyone with information is encouraged to get in touch with the NYPD. No other information has been released to the public.
According to the allegation, the person then ran away on foot, heading east on 34 Avenue.
