Baltimore instructor accidentally shoots student

Baltimore, Maryland.In the Southwest District of the city, a 23-year-old woman was hurt Wednesday night after she was unintentionally shot during a firearms training session.

After receiving reports of a shooting, officers arrived at the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue at approximately 6:12 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the woman had been shot in the leg. In stable condition, she was sent to a nearby hospital.

According to investigators, the instructor fired a handgun while showing the woman how to safely render it unusable while she was taking a weapons training course. At the scene, the teacher was arrested.

Instructor detained following accidental shooting

The inquiry is being led by detectives from the Southwest District Shooting. The identity of the instructor and the potential charges have not been disclosed by the police.
