Multiple roads closed in Marlboro Township following storm damage, police advise staying off roadways

New Jersey’s Marlboro Township. Due to storm-related damage, a number of major and secondary roads in Marlboro Township are still closed. As personnel attempt to restore electricity and remove hazards, local authorities are advising citizens to avoid making needless travel.

Due to damaged power lines, Route 79 is closed between Route 520 and Girard Street as of Thursday night. Travel within the township is still impacted by more closures and broken traffic lights.

The following intersections currently lack traffic lights:

  • Route 79 and Wyncrest Road
  • Route 79 and School Road
  • Route 520 and Wyncrest Road
  • Route 520 and Gordons Corner Road

Updated road closures throughout the township

The following updated closures were also reported by the Marlboro Township Police Department:

  • Route 79 between Route 520 and School Road West
  • Amboy Road and Tennent Road
  • Route 520 between Crine Road and Emerald Drive
  • Robertsville Road between Palomino Way and Cross Ridge Circle
  • Pleasant Valley Road between Beaver Hill and Reids Hill Road

Because secondary routes may be unusable owing to debris, water, or electrical hazards, residents are warned not to avoid barricades.

Drivers are being asked to stay off the roads while emergency repairs are being made while authorities continue to evaluate the damage throughout the region.
