Oxford Valley Mall shooting suspect at large as Middletown Township recovers from storm

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA As the township recovers from significant storm damage that caused widespread power outages and road interruptions, police are actively looking for a suspect in a targeted shooting that occurred outside the Oxford Valley Mall on Wednesday evening.

The shooting was not an active shooter or random incident, according to authorities. The victim was the only one hurt, and the suspect and victim knew one another. His health has not been made public since he was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to the description, the suspect is a guy African American who was last seen carrying a black and white bag while sporting green jeans and a dark jacket. It is thought that a handgun—possibly a revolver—was used. As soon as the incident occurred, the suspect left the area.

Police urge public to avoid area and stay alert

Following the shooting, the Oxford Valley Mall was closed, and while the investigation is ongoing, authorities have advised the public to stay away from the area. The suspect is still at large.

In addition, Middletown Township is also coping with significant storm-related damage. The region is still dangerous due to fallen trees, electricity lines, and dim traffic signals. To remove debris and restore service, PECO and Public Works teams are at work.

Residents are being asked by police to exercise caution, stay away from downed wires, and regard junctions that aren’t working as four-way stops.

As Middletown continues to recover from the storm, police are looking for a suspect in a targeted shooting near Oxford Valley Mall.
