The city of Philadelphia According to authorities, a third suspect is still at large in connection with the 2022 shooting death of 17-year-old Theodore Crawford in the city’s East Falls neighborhood, while two men have been taken into custody and prosecuted.
The 39th District officers responded to a complaint of a person with a gun on the 3100 block of Berkeley Drive on April 16, 2022, at around 3:20 p.m. Police came to find Crawford and another 18-year-old man inside a red Lexus with several gunshot wounds.
At the scene, Hatfield, Pennsylvania resident Crawford was not responding. At 3:40 p.m., he was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and declared deceased. In stable condition, the second victim was sent to Temple University Hospital.
Three suspects were found after the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit conducted an investigation. Two of them, Andre Saunders of Gilbert Street and Amir Williams of Glendale Street, both 21 years old, have been taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, murder, and other associated crimes.
Third suspect still wanted in connection with fatal shooting
James Braswell, a 22-year-old suspect, is still at large. Police said the 2400 block of North 29th Street is his last known address.
The motive behind the shooting and the circumstances leading up to it have not been revealed by the authorities.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s tip line is open to anyone with information about Braswell’s whereabouts.
