Swimmer injured off Barnegat Light beach transported to hospital for treatment

New Jersey’s Barnegat Light.A multi-agency emergency response was prompted on Saturday morning after a swimmer in Barnegat Light suffered a minor leg injury while swimming near the 9th Street beach.

Officers were sent to help the Barnegat Light Beach Patrol, which had already started reacting to the injured swimmer, at around 11:39 a.m., according to the Long Beach Township Police Department. According to reports, the unnamed male swimmer sustained a slight injury to his leg.

The injury’s precise etiology is still unknown. At the time of the occurrence, authorities did not record any sharp items, marine life, or other concerns.

The subject was taken by Beach Patrol officers from the 9th Street beach area to 19th Street, where they were met by Barnegat Light First Aid and Long Beach Township police officers.

After that, emergency personnel transported the man to Southern Ocean Medical Center for more assessment and care.
