MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, PAA On Wednesday, an Erie County player who matched all five of the June 9 drawing’s numbers won a $1,162,845 Cash 5 with Quick Cash jackpot reward from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The winning ticket was bought by Gary Winner at Giant Eagle, which is situated in Millcreek Township at 2501 West 12th Street. Winner and another Butler County player, whose ticket is still unclaimed, shared the jackpot, which totaled more than $2.3 million.

He only plays Cash 5 when the jackpot is large, according to the 64-year-old, who is retired and works part-time at a golf shop. He purchased $20 worth of Quick Pick tickets after seeing that the prize had risen above $2 million. Inside the store, he scanned his tickets and found out he had won.

Giant Eagle will sell the winning ticket and get a bonus of $10,000. According to grocery chain officials, the bonus will be given to Meals on Wheels Erie, a nonprofit organization that provides over 50,000 meals to elderly people who are confined to their homes each year.
