BENSALEM, Pennsylvania.Bensalem Police said that a woman discharged a shot during a confrontation between tenants of two flats at The Commons Apartment Complex on Wednesday night after a fireworks argument turned violent.
Officers were called to 1900 Park Avenue at around 9:43 p.m. after receiving several reports of an armed individual and gunfire. When the police arrived, they discovered that one of the residents had set off fireworks, which sparked a fight between the locals.
According to authorities, Tiara Blackston, 30, a resident of the building, took a 9mm Taurus handgun out of her pocket and shot someone else once during the dispute. The bullet did not hit the victim.
Blackston was taken into custody without incident after police found the handgun at the site. There were no other recorded injuries.
Blackston held on $250,000 bail after arraignment
Blackston was accused of harassment, reckless endangerment of another person, simple assault, aggravated assault, and possession of a criminal weapon. Magisterial District Justice Lisa J. Gaier set her bond at 10% of $250,000 when she was arraigned.
After being arraigned, Blackston was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
