Lakewood, New Jersey.At a recent Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, the Lakewood Fire Department formally swore in two new career firefighters and appointed a new volunteer.
During the session, career firefighters Joseph T. Bisogno and Marvin J. Pisco took their official oaths following fire school training, while volunteer fireman Aldo Montes was legally appointed.
In January, Bisogno and Pisco were first appointed. This Thursday, they were formally sworn in, marking the end of their training and the start of their active service with the agency.
According to the department, the official swearing-in of Career Firefighters Joseph T. Bisogno and Marvin J. Pisco, as well as the appointment of volunteer fireman Aldo Montes, were announced by the Lakewood Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners and Fire Chief Jonathan Yahr.
The incident took place during a regular Fire Commissioners’ meeting, where departmental updates and appointments are discussed.
The department is still recruiting.
The Lakewood Fire Department is still looking for volunteers from the community. Interested parties are encouraged by officials to visit the department’s website and use the Join / Apply Today portal to submit their information.

In order to serve the expanding township, the department is still actively expanding its ranks by hiring both career and volunteer firemen.
After earning the necessary qualifications at the fire academy earlier this year, Bisogno and Pisco are now part of a group of firefighters with professional training.
This month, new hires are anticipated to start active duty assignments at all of Lakewood’s fire stations.
