Senior dog waits alone in NJ shelter after owner’s death

Jackson, New Jersey.Tommy, a 12-year-old senior dog who returned to the shelter following the death of his owner, has not received any interest in adoption, therefore the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility is resuming its search for a home.

Due to the illness of his previous owner, Tommy, who is thought to be a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, has been in and out of the facility for the past year. He is still an orphan and is regarded as a favorite by the personnel at the shelter.

According to the shelter, he is not just a charming man but also a real character. Despite his advanced age, Tommy is well-known for his love of goodies, noisy walks, preoccupation with squeaky toys, and positive outlook.

Even though Tommy has age-related ailments like lumps and bumps, he is still energetic and aware. He has been microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and tested negative for heartworm.

Ideal home sought for older dog with personality

Although Tommy has demonstrated that he gets along with calmer dogs, he would probably thrive as the only pet in a household where he can get all of the attention he needs. Any 501(c)(3) rescue organization that can assist him in finding a permanent home is welcome to adopt him or transfer him to the shelter.

At the moment, Tommy may be found at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility, which is located at 615 Freemont Avenue in Jackson. For additional information, interested adopters or rescues can send an email to [email protected].
