Two New Yorkers score big in Powerball draw

ALBANY, N.Y.Two Powerball players who bought third-prize tickets in Brooklyn and Sidney won $50,000 apiece in the June 16 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

Jimy Candy Grocery Inc., situated at 8317 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn, sold one winning ticket. The other was sold at 112 Delaware Avenue, Mirabito #35-Sidney, Sidney.

Each ticket won the $50,000 third-tier prize when it matched four of the five white balls and the red Power Ball.

Three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m., Powerball drawings are conducted. For the white balls and the red Power Ball, the winning numbers are selected from a pool of 1 to 69 and 1 to 26, respectively.

Lottery continues major contributions to state education

In North America, the New York Lottery continues to be the biggest and most lucrative lottery. It gave $3.8 billion to New York State’s public education system for the fiscal year 2023–2024.
