Sore Throat is Main Symptom of Latest COVID-19 Strain to Hit New Jersey, With Minimal Impact

Trenton, New Jersey. A severe sore throat is one of the most prominent symptoms of a newly developing strain of COVID-19 called Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which is currently the most prevalent variety circulating in New Jersey, according to health officials.

According to state health data, the fast-spreading subvariant is responsible for the majority of the 140 recent COVID-19 cases that have been documented. The New Jersey Department of Health verified that the prevalence of NB.1.8.1 is still rising.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention national estimates, over the two weeks ended June 7, the Nimbus variant increased from 15 percent to 37 percent of all COVID cases in the United States.

According to medical sources such as the World Health Network, people infected with Nimbus often have severe throat pain that is usually compared to a razor blade sensation.

Low-grade fever, nasal congestion, exhaustion, and a little cough are possible additional symptoms.

The total number of cases is still very low.
