Trump Administration Acknowledges Lack of Evidence for Jeffrey Epstein ‘Client List’

For months, Attorney General Pam Bondi stoked interest in the files, which have long been the subject of conjecture and conspiracy theories, by promising to release information on the infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein that might include embarrassing details.

However, a Justice Department letter released on Monday refuted her own findings, casting doubt on them. It was essentially a list of findings that supported those investigators had made years before, such as the fact that Mr. Epstein committed suicide while incarcerated in a Manhattan cell pending trial.

The document stated that no damning client list was found throughout this exhaustive assessment. Furthermore, there was no solid proof that Epstein’s operations included blackmailing well-known people. Evidence that could support an investigation against uncharged third parties was not found by us.

The document went on to say that the Justice Department and the FBI had done a thorough job of reviewing the records and that no more disclosure would be necessary or appropriate.

The issue of Mr. Epstein has become a public preoccupation for some Trump fans in the six years since his death in 2019. Some have accused Ms. Bondi and F.B.I. director Kash Patel, two of his top aides, of slow-walking the review and release of the case file.

Ms. Bondi’s similarly hypnotized February release of related records failed, attracting significant mockery because a large portion of the material was already known.
