Curtis Yarvin, a right-wing blogger best known for his support of monarchy, is one of the somewhat unexpected consultants Elon Musk has consulted when researching how to launch a third political party.
One of the most well-known intellectuals on the so-called digital right, Mr. Yarvin has gained notoriety for his frequently voiced contempt for traditional American democracy.
He doesn’t appear to be able to provide Mr. Musk with the kind of experience he needs to forward his vision for the America Party. Mr. Yarvin lacks expertise in the complexities and tactics of managing third-party campaigns, as well as the mechanics of establishing third parties.
Nevertheless, two individuals briefed on the call who requested anonymity to disclose it claim that Mr. Musk and Mr. Yarvin discussed the issue at hand late last week. A request for response from Mr. Musk’s representative was not immediately answered. An interview with Mr. Yarvin was rejected.
Technology titans like Marc Andreessen and Peter Thiel have been among Mr. Yarvin’s pals over the years, and Vice President JD Vance has referenced his work.
According to others briefed on the discussion, Mr. Yarvin discussed some of his political beliefs with Mr. Musk.
