Reno Man Facing Serious Drug and Weapons Charges After $850K Narcotics Seizure

A man from Reno is confronting serious drug trafficking and additional charges following a collaborative investigation by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the DEA’s Reno office, which resulted in the confiscation of narcotics valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A 29-year-old man, Pablo Doval Avalos, has been taken into custody and placed in Washoe County jail following an extensive investigation that spanned several months. This inquiry focused on the sale and distribution of various illicit substances, including methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Avalos is confronted with multiple allegations, which encompass the possession of 42 grams or more of a controlled substance; trafficking of 400 grams or more of a controlled substance; sale and transportation of a controlled substance; possession with the intent to sell; and possession of a firearm by someone prohibited from doing so.

Authorities reported the recovery of 58 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 pound of heroin, and 3,500 fentanyl pills during the investigation, with an estimated street value exceeding $850,000. Authorities have also seized two weapons.

As of Wednesday morning, Doval Avalos was in custody with a bail set at $100,000.
