In the Brownsville neighborhood of Miami, Related Urban Development Group (RUDG), the affordable and mixed-income division of Related Group, along with Miami-Dade County, is gearing up for the grand opening ceremony of Lincoln Gardens Elderly, marking the second phase of the Lincoln Gardens redevelopment project.
The event, originally scheduled for September 26, has been postponed because of weather conditions. This new four-story building features 77 affordable housing units tailored for seniors in households earning at or below 60% of the area median income (AMI). This project is an integral component of a larger effort aimed at revitalizing more than nine acres of previously underutilized public housing land.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s administration has designated $1 million from surtax funding to maintain the affordability of the housing complex.
The building features four stories and offers both one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Accessibility was a key focus in the design; each unit is equipped with ADA and UFAS features to meet the needs of seniors. The units are equipped with contemporary amenities including digital thermostats, energy-efficient appliances, central air conditioning, and impact-resistant doors and windows. Residents will enjoy in-unit laundry facilities, microwave ovens, and garbage disposals.
Related Urban is poised to embark on multiple new developments across Miami-Dade County, targeting locations like Little Havana, South Miami, North Miami near North Shore Hospital, and areas adjacent to Marlins Park, in addition to various projects in collaboration with private partners.
