Los Angeles Woman Arrested for Stealing $900 in High-End Products from Irvine Store

IRVINE, Calif. – A 33-year-old woman from Los Angeles was arrested after allegedly stealing over $900 worth of beauty products from a Sephora store at the Irvine Spectrum Center in Orange County, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The suspect, Jennifer Mayerly Gonzalez, was caught on surveillance video as she discreetly took high-end beauty items and walked out without paying.

What Happened

On July 30, Gonzalez was seen on store security footage standing near the Dior beauty section before placing liquid and powder foundation products into a large purse. She then exited the store without attempting to pay, police said.

Soon after, officers tracked her vehicle on the 5 Freeway near El Toro Road and conducted a traffic stop. Inside the car, police recovered more than $900 worth of stolen Sephora merchandise. According to Sephora’s website, Dior foundations cost between $60 and $90 each.

Arrest and Charges

Gonzalez was booked at the Orange County Jail on several charges, including:

  • Theft with a prior
  • Receiving stolen property
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Identity theft

Police also confirmed she was already wanted in a separate case involving receiving stolen property.
