Cape May debuts first-ever Halloween pop-up bar with pirate-themed ‘Boo Bar’

CAPE MAY, N.J. — Harry’s Bar and Grille, one of Cape May’s most popular waterfront spots, has launched the city’s first-ever Halloween-themed pop-up bar: Harry’s Boo Bar. The haunted pirate-themed pop-up, which opened this month at the Montreal Beach Resort, will run through October 31, transforming the space into a ghostly pirate den complete with skeleton crew decor, eerie lighting, and themed cocktails.

Located at 1025 Beach Avenue, Harry’s Boo Bar has partnered with the Cape May Beach Patrol to create a haunting experience inside and out, including a full-size pirate ship display. Inside, patrons can expect pirate flags, treasure chests, ghostly portraits, and rogue skeleton pirates. “Come ready to eat, drink, and be scary,” said the bar’s press release, as the pop-up promises a spooky atmosphere with a nautical twist.

“We saw incredible success with last year’s Christmas pop-up, Jingle Bar, and wanted to bring that same energy to Halloween,” said Madison Resorts Owner Dan Alicea. “This time of year is becoming more popular at the shore, and we wanted to offer something unique for both visitors and locals.”

In addition to the pirate-themed decor, Harry’s Boo Bar offers a Halloween-inspired food and drink menu, featuring spooky cocktails like Davy Jones Juice and Blackbeard’s Rum served in IV blood bags. The bar will also host a special Boo Bar Happy Hour on Wednesdays through Sundays.

The pop-up has teamed up with the Cape May Beach Patrol for a charitable cause, collecting donations for the Cannone Scholarship Fund, which benefits local lifeguards. Guests who contribute to the fund will be entered to win prizes, with all donations matched by Madison Resorts. The prize drawing will take place during Harry’s Halloween Party on October 26.
