Delaware man arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery at New Castle Bowlerama


NEW CASTLE, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested Deshon Worrell, 37, of Wilmington, for his alleged involvement in an attempted armed robbery at the Bowlerama in New Castle. The incident took place on May 13, 2024, in the parking lot of the bowling alley, located at 3031 New Castle Avenue.

At around 5:20 p.m. on the day of the incident, a Bowlerama employee was approached by a suspect while walking toward the entrance carrying a bag with business property. The suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded the bag. The employee complied, but the suspect dropped the bag as he fled, returning to the passenger seat of a nearby sedan before escaping.

Investigators identified Worrell as a suspect through investigative leads. He was arrested on October 17, 2024, by the Wilmington Police Department during an unrelated investigation.

Worrell was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and charged with robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment. He is being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $126,000 cash bond.
