New Orleans Men Sentenced for Leading Extensive Drug Ring and Firearms Violations

A federal jury in New Orleans has convicted two local men, Terence Wilson and Travis Enclade, both 42, on charges related to drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. Wilson and Enclade were found guilty on October 9, of running a methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl distribution operation from a stash house located on Encampment Street, as reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, evidence presented at trial showed that from August to October 2022, the duo engaged in near-daily drug transactions in the Hollygrove area.

They were regularly spotted making short trips to the said stash house, “indicative of drug activities,” as reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Louisiana. Law enforcement discovered both men possessed keys to the premises during the subsequent investigation.

During a search by authorities, the stash house was found to contain over 534 grams of heroin and fentanyl, more than 120 grams of fentanyl alone, and 363 grams of primarily pure methamphetamine.

Weapons were also recovered, including a Diamondback Model DB9 pistol, a Palmetto State Armory Model PA-X9 pistol, and a stolen Ruger Model 57 pistol from Enclade’s residence, along with various items indicative of drug packaging and distribution operations, as mentioned by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The jury convicted both men of conspiring to distribute substantial amounts of illicit substances and being felons in possession of firearms. However, on a charge related to possessing firearms to further a drug trafficking crime, they were found not guilty.

This case forms part of a broader initiative under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhoods, aiming to dismantle high-level drug trafficking operations and reduce violent crime. The multi-agency effort was supported by a range of local and federal agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and several police departments across Louisiana.

Assistant United States Attorneys Rachal Cassagne and André Jones led the prosecution in a push to combat the ongoing challenge of drug-related offenses in the region. The collaborative law enforcement strategy reflects an acute awareness of the impacts such criminal networks have on local communities and a resolute commitment to their eradication.
