Two arrested in connection to shooting at Wawa in West Goshen Township


WEST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that took place on October 19, 2024, in the parking lot of a Wawa store and TD Bank in West Goshen Township, Chester County, authorities said.

Frank Johnson, 21, of Coatesville, and Zahir Scott, 18, of Wilmington, Delaware, are facing multiple charges, including Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Weapon. Scott is also charged with Robbery. The two were arraigned on October 20, 2024, by Magisterial District Judge Gregory Hines, who set their bail at $1,000,000 each. Both defendants have been remanded to Chester County Prison.

According to the West Goshen Police Department (WGPD), officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls around 2:03 p.m. reporting a physical fight and gunfire in the parking lot of the Wawa and TD Bank located in the 700 block of East Market Street. Witnesses described the suspects, noting that both were armed with handguns.


Surveillance footage obtained by investigators showed a physical altercation between the suspects over a black trash bag, which was later determined to contain marijuana. During the struggle, the defendants shot at each other before fleeing the scene.

Johnson was apprehended after WGPD officers pulled him over, finding a handgun on the floorboard of his car. Scott was later found at Chester County Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. Police recovered the gun Scott had discarded in the grass behind a local gas station.
