Ciattarelli Joins Local Leaders Against New Jersey’s Liquor License Lawfare Against President Trump

SOMERVILLE, N.J. — Jack Ciattarelli, a 2025 gubernatorial candidate, and Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas Arnone called on New Jersey officials Thursday to drop ongoing efforts to revoke liquor licenses at two Trump-owned golf clubs. Ciattarelli and Arnone addressed a joint letter to Attorney General Matthew Platkin and Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Director James Krueger, condemning the actions as politically motivated.

The licenses in question are held by Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, Somerset County, and Trump National Golf Club in Colts Neck, Monmouth County. The letter argued that the state’s pursuit of revocation unfairly targets the businesses due to their association with the Trump name, a claim the officials described as a matter of “partisan politics.”

“No one following this truly believes that these businesses are being so aggressively targeted and publicly dragged through the mud for any other reason than the name of the family associated with these golf clubs,” Ciattarelli and Arnone wrote in the letter.

They emphasized the economic impact on workers at the clubs, noting that several hundred local residents rely on employment there to support their families.

Hearings on the revocation, originally set for this summer, were postponed as the state’s investigation continues. The letter urged the state not to jeopardize the livelihoods of the clubs’ employees in Somerset and Monmouth counties.

The ABC has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the joint letter from Ciattarelli and Arnone.
