Philadelphia Man’s Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation at Pennsylvania GOP Headquarters

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Montgomery County Republican Committee Headquarters was evacuated on Saturday after receiving a bomb threat, adding to a string of violent incidents targeting GOP staff and offices. The threat came in through a phone call at 11:07 a.m., which included angry and profanity-laced statements, according to committee officials.

This incident follows a troubling pattern of escalating threats, violence, and intimidation aimed at GOP members and staff in Pennsylvania. On September 6, a Republican staffer in Erie County was targeted with death threats from a Philadelphia man, who reportedly sent messages such as, “Your days are numbered, Bitch!” and “GONNA FING FIND YOU AND SKIN YOU ALIVE AND USE YOUR SKIN FOR FING TOILET PAPER, YOU F*ING KKKT!”

In another incident, on October 10, individuals allegedly broke into the Delaware County Republican headquarters, threatening to kill staff members and blocking them from exiting the premises. More recently, on October 17, multiple GOP members received anonymous letters containing threats. The letters reportedly stated, “Should your candidate win…we know where you live, you are in the database,” and warned of potential consequences, including harm to family and property.

These threats come amid heightened tensions leading up to the 2024 elections. Authorities, including local police, Governor Josh Shapiro’s Election Integrity Task Force, and the FBI, have been notified of the incidents. No information has been released regarding any ongoing investigations or potential suspects.

Despite the rise in violent threats, Republican Party leaders remain steadfast. “Nothing will stop us from working to elect those who will put our country back on track,” said Pennsylvania GOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas. He condemned the attacks and called for an end to political violence, urging Pennsylvanians to express their opinions through voting rather than intimidation and threats.

Tabas’s comments referenced a recent tragic incident in Butler County, where a man lost his life in what was described as politically motivated violence. The increasing frequency of such threats has prompted calls from officials and community leaders for heightened security measures and broader bipartisan condemnation.
