STAFFORD, Va. — A Woodbridge woman was arrested late Friday for her fourth DUI offense after a series of erratic maneuvers on Interstate 95 prompted a call to local authorities. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the incident near the 140 exit, leading to the arrest of 48-year-old Blanca Azucena Herrera Argueta.
According to law enforcement, a call was received around 11:50 p.m. on Friday night reporting a Toyota swerving in traffic and nearly causing multiple collisions while traveling southbound on I-95. The caller indicated the vehicle exited the highway and continued toward Wonder Road, where Deputy C.A. Osborne located the car.
When approached, Herrera Argueta showed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and a noticeable smell of alcohol, according to the report. Herrera initially claimed that her cousin had been driving but that the individual had “disappeared” before the deputy’s arrival. After the claim was dismissed, Deputy Osborne proceeded with field sobriety tests.
Following the roadside investigation, Herrera Argueta was detained and transported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for a blood test. There, the sheriff’s office reported that Herrera Argueta resisted the procedure by “rolling around on the floor,” attempting to delay the process. She was later transferred to Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Herrera Argueta faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence—fourth offense within ten years, second offense refusal to submit to a test, obstruction of justice, driving after forfeiture of her license, and driving while revoked. She is being held without bond at the regional jail.
