Powerball ticket worth $100K sold in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A Powerplay ticket purchased in Brooklyn has won a $100,000 third prize in the October 28 Powerball drawing, the New York Lottery announced Tuesday.

The winning ticket was sold at Lucky Choice, located at 500A Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. The player matched enough numbers to secure a third-prize win, and with the added Power Play option, the prize doubled from the standard $50,000 to $100,000.

The winning numbers in Powerball are drawn from a field of one to 69, with an additional Power Ball number drawn from a separate field of one to 26. By selecting the Power Play option, players can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times their original value.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.—offering players multiple chances to win substantial prizes.
